Conversations on Teaching Hospitals and Health Professional Education is a four-part series, moderated by Richard H. Hart, MD, DrPH, designed to provide a practical, step-by-step approach to developing and strengthening clinical education within hospital settings, particularly for institutions in early stages of becoming teaching sites.
Led by Milton Mesa, MD, and moderated by Richard H. Hart, MD, DrPH, this series emphasizes the importance of developing the clinical and academic partnership for faculty and staff across every level.
Please encourage those in your institution to attend. Participants who complete the sessions along with the required homework and assessments will be eligible to earn a microcredential.

Richard Hart, MD, DrPH
President of Loma Linda University Health
Dr. Richard Hart currently serves as President of Loma Linda University Health. Dr. Hart has served Loma Linda University since 1972, including serving as Chair of the School of Public Health’s Department of Health Sciences, Director of the Center for Health Promotion, Chair of the School of Medicine’s Department of Preventive Medicine, Dean of the School of Public Health, and President (previously Chancellor) and CEO of the University. Dr. Hart’s vision extends beyond the walls of Loma Linda University not only to the local communities, but to the villages and towns, the hospitals and mission clinics, in the farthest reaches of our globe. Dr. Hart also serves as president of Adventist Health International (AHI), a management corporation established to restore Adventist mission hospitals worldwide.

Milton Mesa, MD, MPH
Associate Director, General Conference Department of Health Ministries
Dr. Milton Mesa is a Medical Doctor from Argentina, who also earned a Master in Public Health in Finland. He is a professor in Public Health, Health Promotion and Lifestyle Medicine among other subjects. He dedicated most of his life to Medical and Public Health Education, teaching and serving as a liason to medical and health professions students with university hospitals, lifestyle centers, the community, government and non-profit organizations. Before joining the Health Ministries team at the General Conference of SDA, he was the Dean of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at River Plate Adventist University, and later the Vice president and Provost of this institution. He is happily married to Dariela Romano, an experienced educator, with whom they have two children: Matías and Lucía. Dr. Mesa shares a passion for Health Promotion and Education, Lifestyle Medicine, and Public Health, hoping to make a contribution to facilitate a balanced development of individuals and communities’ health.
