Lilongwe Adventist Hospital (LAH) is an institution of the Seventh Day Adventist Church under Malawi Union. It was founded in 1983 as a branch of Blantyre Adventist Hospital. At the time of commencement LAH was only providing Dental and optical services. In 1988, medical services were added.  

In 2010, the medical department started operating 24 hour and admission services. In 2012, the hospital was not doing well financially and retrenchment was implemented which saw 15 people losing their jobs. In 2013, the renovation work of workshop building was completed accommodating medical services with 12 bed capacity. In 2017 and 2018, two phases of a new wing were added to provide a surgical suite with two operating rooms, space for an ICU (under development) and a maternity unit with an additional two private rooms. Currently LAH has a staffing of 48. The team of regular Doctors comprises of 3 General Practitioners, 3 Specialists (general surgery, ob/gyn and ophthalmology), 2 Dentists. The hospital also makes use of 2 visiting specialists. Currently we provide both in-patient and out-patient services.
