What is a micro-credential?

A micro-credential is a formal recognition from an educational institution that confirms a learner has acquired specific knowledge, skills, and competencies essential for the workforce. It consists of focused courses, practical experiences, and demonstrated expertise, providing a targeted pathway for professional growth and development that differs from traditional academic degrees.

To earn the micro-credential in Institutional Board Governance, participants will complete 12 classes and short assessments at the end of each learning module to demonstrate mastery of the content.
